Synopsis
AGGIE MUNDEEN, single and obsessed with turning thirty-nine, quits her Chicago bank job and moves to San Antonio, Texas, to start over. Determined to avoid becoming decrepit, she takes Aspects of Aging at University of the Holy Trinity where she frays the nerves of her persnickety professor.
At Forever Fit Health Club, she encounters a macho Texas redneck, an Ichabod Crain-vegetarian, and too many perfect women. With her klutzy tendency to make machines malfunction, rusty social skills, and total incomprehension of Southern-style flirting, she irritates most of the men she meets. Then she stumbles into murder.
The SAPD detective on the case is her old friend from Chicago. She has secretly loved him for years but can never let him know. She fears that while investigating the murder, he will discover a secret from Aggies past. So she decides to solve the crime herself. The detective is frustrated by her disruptive meddling; but when the killer comes after Aggie, he has to delay his investigation to try and save her derriere.
Aggie entangles herself in predicaments like characters created by Sandra Bullock, Goldie Hawn, and Janet Evanovich. Aggies boundless determination as she charges through chaos will resonate with everyone who has tried to make a fresh start.
